Bureau de Dame
Bureau de Dame
ReLoved antique fall-front writing bureau often called a 'burea de dame' due to its relatively compact proportions. Late Victorian/early Edwardian Georgian Revival bureau, possibly early 1900's.
This piece has been stripped, sanded and painted with Fusion Mineral paint 'Casement’. The legs and hardware have been given a new look using 24ct gold-leaf, purposefully distressed to retain an aged look. Internally there are fitted pigeonholes and a small central drawer, perfect for storing smaller items.
A new key has been cut to allow all four sections of the bureau to be locked, as desired.
Features:
sloping/fall writing front
fitted pigeonholes and small central drawer
three drawers beneath
cabriole legs
one brass working key that fits all four locks
24ct gold-leaf on the legs and hardware
Approximate dimensions:
Height 102cm; width 53cm; depth 45cm
As with all my items, this is a preloved item and whilst it will be new to you, it is not new and therefore may show some small signs of previous ownership, commensurate of its age. Very solid, structurally sound and in excellent condition for its age.
